The household bins have six compartments in total for glass/metal, cardboard/paper/textiles, food and beverage cartons, plastic, food waste and residual waste. Residents can also get a box for hazardous waste.
Arwos provides green bags for food waste and red bags for textile waste. If you have your own bins, you can tie an empty bag to the bin handle to receive new bags.
Arwos operates recycling centres in Aabenraa, Padborg, Kliplev, Tumbøl and Kobro. There are also 24-hour garden-waste sites in Stubbæk and Løjt, and reuse shops in Padborg and Aabenraa.
Hazardous waste must not go in residual waste, drains, fires or the ground. It must be delivered to a recycling centre in closed, preferably original packaging, while batteries and small light sources can be placed in a transparent bag on top of the waste bin.
