In Hedensted Municipality, waste is sorted into fractions such as paper, cardboard, metal, plastic, food and beverage cartons, food waste and residual waste. Households use divided containers for food/residual waste and separate containers for recyclable materials. Recycling stations accept hazardous waste, electronics and other waste types, while bulky waste can be ordered several times a year. The municipality has recycling stations in Remmerslund, Klakring, Hornsyld and Kalhave. They accept sorted waste from homes and businesses in Hedensted Municipality.
Remmerslund and Hornsyld have unstaffed opening hours during limited weekday periods after registration. The scheme cannot be used on closed days.
At Kalhave, Klakring and Remmerslund, good usable items can be handed in for direct reuse. Asbestos waste and roofing sheets have special requirements and must be handled according to municipal guidance.
