Waste services

Nordværk handles waste services

Jammerbugt Municipality refers residents to Nordværk for information about waste collection, recycling centres, sorting, self-service, fees and collection schedules.

Food and residual waste

Food waste is sorted separately from residual waste and placed in a tied bag before going into the bin. Residual waste is what remains after food waste and recyclable materials have been sorted out.

Recycling bin

The recycling bin is used for materials such as paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and food and beverage cartons. Glass is typically handed in through bottle banks or at a recycling centre.

Recycling centres

The municipality has four recycling centres in Aabybro, Brovst, Fjerritslev and Pandrup. They are operated by Nordværk and can be used for many waste types that are not collected at home.

Construction and special waste

Construction and demolition waste must be reported to the municipality if the project creates more than 1 tonne of waste, or if older sealed glazing units are replaced. Hazardous and contaminated waste must be sorted separately.
