Lemvig Municipality is located by the west coast of Jutland and is known for dramatic nature, dunes and the North Sea. The area offers many outdoor activities and has an engaged local community with nature, culture and local trade in a peaceful setting.
Lemvig Municipality works with the waste company Nomi4s to handle waste sustainably. Residents sort waste into several fractions, including residual waste, food waste, plastic, paper, metal, glass and cardboard. The municipality aims to reduce waste sent to incineration and increase recycling. Hazardous waste must be delivered to recycling centres, and environmental boxes are available for safe storage. Textile waste and reuse of building materials are supported through separate schemes.

Lemvig works with Holstebro, Skive and Struer on the Waste and Resource Plan 2022-2034. The plan focuses on less waste, better recycling, lower environmental impact from construction and more circular resource handling.
Lemvig Municipality has recycling centres in Lemvig, Harboøre and Bækmarksbro. Private residents in Holstebro, Lemvig, Skive and Struer municipalities have free access to all Nomi4s recycling centres.
Private households and holiday homes are covered by a bulky-waste scheme through the environmental fee. Bulky waste and garden waste can be delivered to a recycling centre or collected from the address up to six times a year after booking.
Waste in sacks must be delivered in clear sacks so recycling staff can see the contents. Black and coloured sacks may be rejected, and waste should be sorted before arrival so it can be placed in the right containers.
Hazardous waste must be delivered according to Nomi4s' sorting guidance. Asbestos and fibre-cement sheets, as well as asbestos waste, must be wrapped in clear, sealed plastic, and limits apply per visit.
