Waste must be sorted where it arises. The sorting guide covers residual waste, food waste, plastic, cardboard, paper, glass, metal, hazardous waste and small electronics.
Albertslund Recycling Station at Holsbjergvej 44 accepts sorted waste that does not belong in ordinary bins. Residents can also use other recycling stations in Vestforbrænding’s area.
Bagged waste must be handed in using clear plastic sacks so the contents can be seen. Vehicles may weigh no more than 3,500 kg, excluding any trailer.
At Drivhuset at the recycling station, residents can hand in intact usable items for direct reuse and find used items that can get a new life.
Garden waste can be handed in at the recycling station, and free compost is offered in spring. Older fibre-cement sheets and asbestos-containing waste must be packaged according to the municipality’s stricter requirements.
