In Allerød Municipality, waste sorting is mandatory and includes fractions such as glass, metal, cardboard, paper, plastic and residual waste. Detached and terraced houses with individual bins sort ordinary household waste into several waste types, including residual waste, food waste, plastic, paper, cardboard, glass and metal.
Food waste must be placed in the green bags supplied by the municipality. It must not be placed loose in the bin, and the bags must be tied securely.
Private households can have bulky waste collected six times a year. Collection must be booked each time no later than four days before collection, and the waste must be placed out sorted.
Allerød Recycling Centre is located at Nordkranvej 10 in Lynge and is used for waste that does not belong in ordinary bins. Sorted cardboard, plastic, paper, glass and metal can also be handed in there if needed.
Construction waste must be sorted and reported correctly to the municipality. From 2025, smaller amounts of asbestos must be packed according to municipal requirements and handed in using an asbestos big bag at Allerød Recycling Centre.
