Dragør Municipality is located at the southern tip of Amager and is known for its preserved old town with yellow houses, cobbled streets and maritime heritage. The municipality has a strong local community and scenic surroundings by Øresund.

In Dragør Municipality, household waste is sorted into ten fractions, including food waste, residual waste, paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, glass, textiles, food and beverage cartons and hazardous waste. Collection systems vary by area, and the old town has special schemes because of access conditions. Hazardous waste is collected in environmental boxes, and glass is often collected in shared containers.
