Sorting into 10 waste types
The municipality sorts household waste into 10 waste types. Detached houses generally use divided bins for food/residual waste, glass/metal and cardboard/paper, while plastic and food and beverage cartons are sorted in a separate bin.
Collections and SMS notifications
The collection plan for each address is prepared by FFV and can be viewed on FFV's website. Residents can also sign up for SMS notifications about bin collections.
Recycling centres
FFV operates the recycling centres in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality. Waste must be sorted into the designated fractions, and bagged waste must be handed in using clear plastic sacks. Food and residual waste cannot be handed in at the recycling centres.
Shared waste solution in central Faaborg
In central Faaborg, the same requirement to sort into 10 waste types applies, but narrow streets and courtyards mean some homes use shared solutions with underground or above-ground containers.
Construction waste
Construction and demolition waste must be reported to the municipality at least 14 days before the work if more than 1 tonne of waste is produced or if it comes from more than 10 m2 of building surface. Waste containing hazardous substances must always be reported.
