Textile and hazardous waste are collected several times a year, and containers must be placed correctly for collection. The municipality’s resource and waste plan aims to reduce waste, supported by app reminders and sorting guidance.

Furesø has recycling stations in Farum and Værløse. Residents and businesses can hand in most waste types there, but not food waste and residual waste.
Waste at the recycling stations must be handed in using clear plastic sacks if it is bagged. Vehicles may weigh no more than 3,500 kg plus trailer.
Residents in Furesø can also use the other recycling stations in Vestforbrænding's area, in addition to the stations in Farum and Værløse.
Farum Recycling Station accepts reusable items for Spejdernes Genbrug, and Værløse Recycling Station has reuse booths so usable items can more easily get a new life.
