Waste services

Containers for detached and terraced houses

Detached and terraced houses use divided containers for plastic/food and beverage cartons/paper, glass/metal and residual/food waste. Container size, replacement lids and new containers can be handled through the municipality's Mit Affald self-service.

Hazardous waste

Gladsaxe has a voluntary red-box scheme for hazardous waste at detached and terraced houses. Larger properties can use schemes with a hazardous waste cabinet and a container for paint.

Bulky waste and garden waste

Bulky waste, cardboard and garden waste must be placed by the property boundary or pavement edge by collection day. Garden waste can be handled through separate containers or bulky waste areas depending on housing type.

Gladsaxe Recycling Centre

The recycling centre at Turbinevej 10 accepts most waste types, but not food waste and residual waste. Waste must be sorted before arrival and handed in using transparent sacks if sacks are used.

Reuse and exchange schemes

Gladsaxe supports reuse through initiatives such as the GLADBYT container and local exchange stations, where usable items can be passed on instead of becoming waste.
