In Gribskov Municipality, household waste is sorted into ten fractions, including food waste, paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, glass, food and beverage cartons, textiles, hazardous waste and residual waste. Households use divided containers for food/residual waste and recyclables, while glass is delivered separately to glass containers. Hazardous waste is collected in a red environmental box, and textile waste uses special bags. The waste app provides guidance and collection reminders.

Year-round homes receive a red environmental box for hazardous waste and bags for textile waste. Holiday homes must follow the separate instructions for handing in hazardous waste and textile waste.
Gribskov Municipality has recycling stations in Skærød near Helsinge and Højelt near Græsted. Sorted waste that does not belong in ordinary bins can be handed in there.
Construction and demolition waste from renovation or demolition must be reported if more than 1 tonne of waste is produced. Fibre-cement sheets must be packed airtight, and no more than 10 sheets per project may be handed in without reporting.
Unused fireworks and misfired fireworks can be handed in at the recycling stations. Staff in the hazardous-waste building must be contacted when fireworks are handed in.
