Sorting guidance

Bulky waste
Houses and terraced homes place sorted bulky waste out under the route scheme. Construction waste, asbestos, sanitary ware and loose waste in opaque sacks are excluded.
Hazardous waste
Hazardous waste uses the red environmental box and can be placed out with bulky waste under the rules. It must not be loose; larger amounts go to the recycling centre.
Garden waste and composting
Homes with gardens can voluntarily join the collection scheme. Compostable garden waste goes in an approved bin or to the recycling centre.
