Waste services

Vestforbrænding supports waste services

Ishøj Municipality refers residents to Vestforbrænding for questions about waste collection, self-service, bulky waste and practical waste services. The municipality also handles rules, plans and fees for household waste.

Sorting into multiple waste types

Ishøj works with the national waste types, including food waste, residual waste, glass, paper, metal, plastic, hazardous waste, food and beverage cartons, cardboard and textiles. Individual homes and shared housing may have different bins and schemes.

Bulky waste once a month

Homes accessible to the collection vehicle can have bulky waste collected once a month. Waste must be clearly sorted, smaller items must be in clear bags, and construction waste and car parts are not bulky waste.

Recycling stations in Vestforbrænding's area

Ishøj Recycling Station is closed. Residents can instead use Brøndby Recycling Station and other recycling stations in Vestforbrænding's area, according to the current access rules.

Caretakers and shared housing

Ishøj Municipality offers information and courses for caretakers and facility staff so shared waste solutions work better and residents receive help with correct sorting.
