Municipal waste rules
In Norddjurs Municipality, household waste is sorted into trash categories such as food waste, residual waste, paper, cardboard, metal, plastic, glass and textiles. Reno Djurs handles collection and operates recycling stations for larger items and hazardous waste. Food waste is collected separately or in divided containers. Containers must not be overfilled, and hazardous waste should be stored safely, for example in environmental boxes collected when needed.

Bulky waste
Large household items and bulky waste are sorted at the Grenaa, Drammelstrup, Glesborg or Anholt recycling centres or handled under the current Reno Djurs scheme.
Hazardous waste
Hazardous waste is handed to staff during staffed hours. Households may deliver 50 kg yearly; paint containers may be 30 litres and other containers 5 litres.
Garden waste and composting
Clean garden waste goes to Reno Djurs sites and becomes compost and soil improver. It must not contain invasive plants, plastic, wire, boards or other contaminants.
