Nordfyns Municipality is located on Funen and is known for Bogense and the coastal area by Kattegat. The municipality offers strong communities, culture and outdoor life for residents and visitors.
In Nordfyns Municipality, household waste is sorted into ten fractions, including food waste, paper, cardboard, plastic, metal, glass and textiles. Households use divided containers to make sorting easier, and food waste can be collected in green bags. Holiday homes typically sort food and residual waste at the property, while other waste types are delivered to local recycling stations. The AffaldNordfyn app provides collection reminders and sorting guidance.

All households sort according to the national 10 waste types. Nordfyn uses three divided bins for fractions such as food/residual waste, cardboard/paper, plastic/cartons and glass/metal, moving large amounts from residual waste to recycling.
The municipality has recycling centres in Bogense, Otterup and Søndersø. Residents can deliver waste that cannot be handled at home, and staff can help with correct sorting.
Residents can pick up a red environmental box for hazardous waste at the recycling centre. The box can be used for storage and transport, or signed up for exchange twice a year in March and October.
If you cannot bring waste to a recycling centre yourself, bulky waste can be booked for collection at your address. Up to eight units are collected per fee, and loose waste must be bundled or placed in transparent sacks.
Søndersø Recycling Centre has extended opening hours for selected waste types such as garden waste, soil, concrete, bricks and roof tiles. Residents can also collect compost free of charge through the scheme.
