In Nyborg Municipality, waste is sorted into ten fractions, including plastic, paper, glass, metal, food waste, cardboard, food and beverage cartons, hazardous waste, textile waste and residual waste. Nyborg Forsyning manages collection and containers. Hazardous waste can be delivered in environmental boxes, and bulky waste can be ordered when needed. Nyborg Forsyning og Service handles waste in Nyborg Municipality. On the utility website, residents can find collection calendars, sorting guidance, recycling islands, recycling stations, prices and SMS reminders.
Nyborg Forsyning handles, together with the collection contractor, collection of household waste and recyclable resources from households and institutions in the municipality.
The municipality has recycling stations in Nyborg, Ullerslev and Ørbæk. Nyborg Forsyning also operates the compactor station in Nyborg.
Hazardous waste can be delivered to the recycling stations in Nyborg, Ørbæk and Ullerslev. Certain types, including construction waste, asbestos waste, oil and chemical waste and homogeneous by-products, must be reported through Byg og Miljø.
Asbestos and fibre-cement waste can no longer be delivered to Ullerslev and Ørbæk recycling stations. This waste type must be delivered to Nyborg Recycling Station according to the current rules.
Nyborg Municipality recommends composting garden waste where possible. Otherwise, garden waste must be delivered to a recycling station. Food waste disposers for organic household waste are not permitted in the municipality.
