Practical waste information

Municipal waste rules

In Odder Municipality, household waste is handled together with Renosyd and sorted into ten fractions, including plastic, metal, paper, cardboard, glass, textiles, food waste and residual waste. Residents can order collection of bulky waste and hazardous waste through Renosyd. The municipality’s circular waste plan focuses on increasing recycling and reducing waste, and access and snow-clearing rules apply in winter to ensure safe collection.

Waste services

Renosyd handles household waste

The joint municipal waste company Renosyd handles waste from private households in Odder Municipality. The municipality refers residents to Renosyd for practical information about sorting, collection, the recycling centre and waste services.

Odder Recycling Centre

There is one recycling centre in Odder Municipality. Renosyd's full network consists of five recycling centres and value parks across Odder and Skanderborg municipalities.

Sorting at the recycling centre

At the recycling centre, waste must be handed in sorted by individual waste type. Residual waste and food waste should normally not be taken to the recycling centre, as they are collected from households.

Hazardous waste and medicine

At Renosyd's recycling centres, a maximum of 25 kg hazardous waste may be delivered per day. Medicine residues and needles must be delivered to a pharmacy, while clinical risk waste must be arranged with MOTAS.

Garden waste

Odder Municipality notes that burning garden waste is not permitted. Garden waste can be delivered to the recycling centre, but Renosyd also encourages residents to leave more garden material in the garden for the benefit of nature.

Circular development

Renosyd works to reduce waste volumes and make better use of resources through reuse and recycling. One upcoming project is Værdicirkel Odder, with a new recycling centre and reuse shop.
