Ringsted Municipality has a waste scheme covering ten waste types: residual waste, food waste, paper, cardboard, glass, metal, plastic, food and beverage cartons, textile waste and hazardous waste. Households receive containers and must sort correctly. Glass and metal are collected less frequently than other trash categories, while hazardous waste and textiles can be collected by order. Bulky waste and garden waste can also be collected, and AffaldPlus provides a waste ABC and collection calendar reminders.

AffaldPlus manages Ringsted's schemes. In Mit Affald you can view collection days, report missed collections and change services; food waste, residual waste, plastic and cartons, paper and small cardboard, glass and metal are collected at the home.
Ringsted's Affalds-ABC provides an item-by-item lookup and shows whether waste belongs in household collection, at a recycling centre or in bulky waste. AffaldPlus also provides printable sorting leaflets and information in English.
Bulky waste is collected every four weeks year-round when booked at least two working days beforehand. Up to six units may be placed out, normally no more than 20 kg each, by the road within 50 cm of the property boundary by 7 a.m.
The red environmental box can be exchanged with a booked bulky-waste collection every four weeks. It may weigh no more than 4 kg, the lid must close, and contents must be safely packed and, where needed, separated in clear bags.
Garden waste is collected by booking every four weeks during the summer half-year. It can also be delivered to Ringsted Recycling Centre at Møllevej 14; home composting is an alternative for suitable green kitchen and garden waste.
