Municipal waste rules
In Rødovre Municipality, household waste is sorted into ten trash categories, including food waste, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, metal, food and beverage cartons, textiles, residual waste and hazardous waste. Homes use divided containers for food and residual waste, while apartment buildings often use larger shared containers. Hazardous waste and electronics must be delivered to the recycling station. Bio bags are provided for food waste, and the municipality works to increase recycling under its waste plan.

Municipal waste service information
Sorting guidance
Rødovre Affald og Genbrug's digital sorting guidance provides item-specific information about bins, collection services and delivery at the recycling station. The new site at Sandbækvej 7 has clearly separated waste types and a dedicated reuse house for usable items.
Bulky waste
Rødovre has a municipal bulky-waste service, but accepted items and placement depend on the type of housing. Follow the address-specific calendar and sorting requirements; construction waste and excluded materials must be taken to the recycling station.
Hazardous waste
Hazardous waste, batteries, electronics and chemicals must be kept separate from ordinary bins and handed in according to Rødovre Affald og Genbrug's instructions. Larger or unusual quantities must be delivered to staff at the Sandbækvej recycling station.
Garden waste and composting
For houses with gardens, garden waste is collected during nine months of the year, changing between weekly and fortnightly service for about 26 collections annually. Filled sacks are placed out according to the calendar and replacement sacks are returned; garden waste can also be taken to the recycling station.
