Sorting guidance
Affald Slagelse and the municipality's searchable Affalds-ABC show how specific items must be sorted. The municipal website also provides guidance on the ten waste types, food-waste bags, public recycling islands and AffaldPlus sites.
Bulky waste
Bulky waste is collected from the address by booking at no extra charge because the service is included in the waste fee. Book before the next scheduled collection, separate materials by type and use a recycling centre for construction waste and other excluded items.
Hazardous waste
The red environmental box for hazardous waste is collected by separate booking at no extra charge. It is used for small household quantities; residents with shared bins must follow their landlord's or caretaker's arrangement, and larger quantities go to a recycling centre.
Garden waste and composting
Garden waste is collected from the address by booking at no extra charge on the dates shown in the collection calendar. It can also be delivered to the municipality's round-the-clock garden-waste sites; burning garden waste is not permitted.
