Vallensbæk Municipality is located by Køge Bay and combines residential areas, coastal nature and green recreational spaces. The municipality focuses on community, good facilities and strong local cohesion, attracting families and commuters.

In Vallensbæk Municipality, household waste is sorted into ten fractions: food waste, residual waste, paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, metal, textiles, food and beverage cartons and hazardous waste. Food and residual waste are collected in a divided container, while containers for plastic, paper and metal are emptied regularly. Recycling and waste can also be delivered to local recycling stations or collected through bulky waste schemes. The municipality cooperates with Vestforbrænding to support correct sorting and recycling.
