Municipal waste rules
In Vejle Municipality, household waste is sorted into fractions including food waste, residual waste, paper, cardboard, plastic, metal and glass. Food waste must be placed in green bags provided for the purpose. Detached and terraced houses use divided containers, and collection frequency depends on waste type. The municipality offers an app with collection dates and sorting guidance, and recycling centres accept bulky and hazardous waste. The waste and resource plan supports waste reduction and green transition toward 2032.

Waste services
AffaldOnline and Affald Vejle
Through AffaldOnline, residents can get collection reminders, adjust collection frequency or report missed collections. The Affald Vejle app provides an overview of recycling centres, opening hours and waste information.
Genbrugsbilen
Genbrugsbilen can collect selected waste types at the home, including textiles, cardboard, expanded polystyrene and electronics. It does not collect waste covered by other schemes, such as household waste or garden waste.
Four recycling centres
Vejle Municipality has recycling centres in Vejle, Børkop, Egtved and Give. RessourceCenter Vejle also includes a shop with free reuse items and the Ressourcer & Genbrug customer centre.
Hazardous waste
Hazardous waste is delivered in the red box or at the chemical house at the recycling centre if it is too large for the box. Needle boxes can be collected free of charge at pharmacies in Vejle Municipality.
G'Bizz for businesses
Businesses must be registered with G'Bizz to deliver business waste at Vejle Municipality's recycling centres. CVR-registered vehicles are registered via number-plate readers.
