Paper
If the municipality accepts ordinary gift wrap
Papir
Residual waste
If rejected locally or containing glitter, plastic or metal

Gift-wrap rules differ between municipalities. Some accept ordinary dry gift wrap without glitter, plastic or metal foil as paper; others require residual waste even for plain gift wrap. Wrap with glitter, plastic coating or metal foil belongs in residual waste. Remove ribbons and bows, and follow local guidance.
If the category is not available locally
If your municipality does not collect this category at your home, you can do this.

Alternative: Municipal recycling centre, local collection point or shared collection station. Do not automatically use residual waste.
Residual waste
There is no general substitute category. The municipality must provide a residual-waste scheme; contact it if you cannot access one.
